Rocking Tilda

Happy Wednesday Friends,

I'm back with my promised card to share with you. This is Rocking Tilda from Magnolia's Sweet Rainbow Collection.  I remember when I was little, I had a sparkly pink hoola hoop just like it, but I was a bit unco and spent most of my time trying to keep it from falling to the ground.

The gorgeous papers are from the same collection, I love the pink gingham paper, it will be another favourite. The rainbow paper has such pretty colours and reminds me of gelato icecream, yum. I also love love love this sweet "Wishing You" text, it will perfect for so many occasions and the  fabulous Doohickey Dies I've used are Swirly Butterfly & Heart Swirl

I dusted off my Cricut to make this little matching purse, I'm sure this would brighten any little girls day if she received this with a little gift - I used the Forever Young Cartridge. The beautiful flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the flower border is a Martha Stewart punch.

I hope you'll join the new challenge Stitching Real or Faux this week at TOMIC The Official Magnolia Inspiration Challenge, the girls have made some more amazing creations with lots of inspiration.

It is long overdue for some blog candy, pop back in a few days and I will have something posted.
I hope you have a wonderful day.

Mini Magnolia

How sweet is the little flying fairy, she stopped by for a rest in the tulips.

Hi Everyone,

I hope you have had a great week, we've had days & days of heavy rain, but today it's lovely and sunny, so this is a quick post, so I can go & enjoy some sunshine.

I made this adorable Watering Can with a couple of my Mini Magnolias. I spotted this tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers a while back and have been meaning to give it a go. I noticed Hanna my Magnolia Teamie made one and oh my goodness how amazing is Hanna's (& she is only 15 yrs old) of course mine is not as beautiful, but I had fun making it all the same.

TOMIC Challenge # 6 - Make a Scene

Happy Monday Everyone,

There's another challenge on over on the TOMIC Challenge blog. It's not my turn this week, but I put my hand up to help them out this week. Challenge 6  Make a scene - dimensional. This was certainly a challenge for me, I'm not very good at combining stamps, but the other DT's have created some amazing scenes for inspiration for you all.

Here is a side view to show the dimension - I stamped Rainbow & Clouds twice, for dimension. Tilda was stamped 3 times, parts of her were popped up for even more dimension.

Miss you Already

Travelling Tilda, Suitcase with Sign, Miss You (text)
from the Bon Voyage Collection
Rose Leaf & Heart Swirl - Doohickey Dies

Hope you are having a wonderful week. I've had this card half finished on my desk for a while. I love this rich paper from Prima, it's Christmas range, but I thought it would work well for the vintage look I was after.

I cut both the suitcase and Tilda out to give some dimension, hope you can see it in this photo.
I've coloured with both Copics and Prisma Pencils.
The frame is by Tim Holtz
and the flowers are a mixture of handmade & from Wild Orchid Crafts.
All other dies are from MFT & Spellbinders.

Inside I've used the very versatile Magnolia Loving Border Stamp from the You are so Special Collection. The pocket can be used for a rubber stamp, chocolate, gift card or tag with a special message.

Thanks for visiting, I hope you'll join us at TOMIC for the new challenge this week, I've had a sneak peak at the Magnolia Girls creations and they are amazing.

Tomic Challenge - Challenge 5 - Easel Cards

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We've had beautiful sunny weather, still a little cool, but thank goodness our winters are mild. Happy Independance Day, to my USA Friends.

There's another challenge on over on the TOMIC Challenge blog and this week the challenge is my very favourite, Easel Cards. See Tutorial further down the page.

I've used Tilda holding Daffodil from the
Butterfly Dreams Collection &  the new Swirl Butterfly
& my fave border - Romantic Lace - Doohickey Dies

Hope you will stop by & see what the other Design Team Members have created for you, they are all amazing! Thanks for joining this wonderful challenge, I can't wait to see what you come up with & hope you will join us next week.

EASEL CARD TUTORIAL

My finished card size is 15cm square (6")
supplies needed:
Cardstock 30cm x 15cm (12"x6")
Cardstock -15cm x 15cm (6"x6")
score tool/scor pal
Scor Tape/Red Tape or strong adhesive

Easel Card 15cm square cut 30cm x15cm piece of cardstock - score at 15cm & 7.5cm (6" & 3") vertically - valley fold both score lines.

Embellish card front - attach to card base, I find it easier to close the card, sticking the front to the closed card, it's easier to line up. To hold the card in place, you need to add a button, pop dot or some sort of dimension for the card to catch on to keep it from closing.

They are a lot easier to make than you might think and they come with a warning, they are very addictive. Easel cards can be made in all sorts of shapes and sizes.
To resize all you need to remember is score your card in half and then in half again.
Example of sizes: 12.5cm (5") square
Cardstock 25cm (10") x 12.5cm (5") - score at 12.5 (5") & 6.25cm (2.5")
